Travel insurance
Travel safely with Nordea MasterCard Xameleon, BalticMiles MasterCard, MasterCard Gold credit cards. We will take care of your travel safety.
Nordea can offer Travel insurance for these credit cardholders.
- Medical expenses, travel illness insurance shall cover the expenses related to an appeal to a medical institution during a trip.
- Accident insurance will cover the losses in the event of medical disability caused by accident during a trip.
- Liability insurance cover the damage caused to health/life and/or property of a third party by unpremeditated actions of a cardholder.
- Delay of departure insurance shall reimburse the losses to the delay of departure of transport vehicles while departing or arriving to the Republic of Lithuania, if departure is delayed for more than 4 hours.
- Luggage delay/ loss insurance shall cover the losses caused by the delay of the luggage, when the luggage is delayed for more then 4 hours, and caused by the loss of luggage.
- Trip cancellation/interruption insurance shall cover the losses caused by travel cancellation or interruption due to serious reasons (sudden disease, death of a family member).
- Missed connecting flight insurance covers the damage caused by failure to reach a connecting flight due to airline company's service failure (due to weather cinditions, technical obstacles, etc.).
Insurance validity
- You can feel safe - you will be insured throughout the entire card validity period.
- The insurance is valid for the events that took place in any country of the world, except for the Republic of Lithuania and the cardholder's country of domicile (if the Republic of Lithuania is not a place of domicile), if the cardholder permanently lives outside the Republic of Lithuania.
Purchase requirement
- BalticMiles MasterCard insurance is valid if the travel costs are paid at least 50 % with BalticMiles MasterCard.
- MasterCard Xameleon card insurance cover Trip Cancellation, Missed connecting flight, Delay of departure and Trip Interruption cases (see the table below) if 100 % of travel costs are paid with Nordea Xameleon credit card.
Insured:
- The insurance is valid for MasterCard Gold cardholders and accopmanying family memeber/-s of the cardholder.
- The insurance is valid for MasterCard Xameleon or BalticMiles MasterCard cardholders.
Important
- In case of an accident, Card owner shall cover the expenses by himself and after returning home, claim for the refund by contacting UAB "Trascom worldwide Vilnius" (Transcom)
- Transcom provides consultations and claim handling.
- Always retain physician's certificate, original receipts for goods, services, treatment and medication costs, reports, certificates or other confirmation of the event. Your expenses will be covered by insurance company after presenting the documentation proving the costs paid.
- Please send all the original documents along with filled in notification of travel loss to Transcom by mail under below mentioned address or deliver it to the nearest Nordea branch.

- Card holder shall contact Transcom only in case of interpretation of terms and conditions and claim handling.
- In case of serious illness or accident, in case of lack of funds to cover the expenses, Card holder should contact first emergency assistance company Travel Guard, which assists in difficult situations when help is needed, helps cover the expenses when there is a lack of funds, helps to bring insured home etc. Service is provided in English language.

- Travel Guard shall be contacted by Card holder only in case of emergency, for consultations which hospital to choose, in lack of funds, to cover the expenses, repatriation home and other similar questions.
- Unsatisfied Card holders can complain to the bank about:
- The quality of Transcom consultations;
- The quality of Transcom claim handling;
- The decision of insurance company after the claim handling.
- Card holder can present the complain:
- In written form to any branch where the customers are serviced
- Through the mail box in the Internet banking;
- Through the common info@nordea.lt e-mail.
