A different approach

Many companies come up with great business development and financing ideas, and most of the time they are also unique and non-traditional. That is why - even on seeing the underlying potential of the ideas - most banks refuse to finance them; otherwise a number of standard procedures would have to be bypassed. What happens if every company requests exceptional conditions? If your business expands to other European countries (Latvia, Poland, Lithuania, Denmark, Estonia, Finland, Sweden, and Norway) and your bank is Nordea, then anything is possible. It should be noted that when we talk about exceptional business opportunities in Lithuania, it's hard to imagine that anybody could offer better conditions than those of Nordea. Make your request, and we will offer you a favourable solution and conditions to suit your needs. Some time ago, one of our clients simply called this "a different approach," and we have adapted that concept.

Nordea can offer companies unique business development financing and finance management solutions. For instance, it can unite the accounts of several companies and thus ensure simpler management of accounts, or pledge the property of a company located in another state. Finance specialists want to learn how to achieve this, whereas we can already do it.

Some examples of the business success of Nordea clients

Nordea has some attractive and unique business development financing and finance management solutions for Lithuanian companies expanding their activities in the Baltic States, Poland or Scandinavia. Our unique offers are made while taking into consideration the specific situation of the company, and they are tailored to meet special needs. Let's look at the experiences of several companies in 2006. All of these companies enjoy the benefits offered by Nordea.

Activity optimisation

Unification of accounts of several companies in Lithuania

There are three companies in Lithuania that belong to the same group of companies. One of the companies often has excess funds, whereas the other two companies take bank loans for their short-term needs. Nordea united the accounts of the companies into one funds system. From now on, the companies take bank loans in a centralised manner and only in cases where none of the companies has any free funds. Furthermore, the group of companies is able to use the funds of all three companies in a more efficient manner, reduce costs related to taking out bank loans, simplify the loan granting process, and earn greater interest on their account balance.

Management of a foreign account by means of an e-banking system in Lithuania

A considerable number of the company's suppliers are from Poland. When settling accounts for purchased goods, the company made international payments from Lithuania to Poland following the usual procedure. Nordea opened bank accounts in Poland for the company and provided them with the opportunity to manage the said bank accounts by means of an e-banking system located in Lithuania. This enabled the Polish suppliers to make "local payment orders" instead of the "international payment orders" made prior to that.

Financing of expansion to other countries' markets

Pledge of property purchased abroad

A Lithuanian company decided to construct residential houses in Scandinavia, but did not want to pledge its property in Lithuania. The company was granted financing for the purchase of land parcels and construction works by pledging the property purchased in Scandinavia. Such a scheme is also available in Latvia, Estonia, and Poland.

Financing of a branch abroad while taking into consideration the reputation of the holding company

A company operating in Lithuania established a branch in Latvia. The financial indicators of the company established here were not good enough to enable it to take loans, as the company had only recently started its activities. However, Nordea financed the new business in Latvia on favourable conditions - despite the fact that it had not generated any cash flow at that time - after having considered the reputation of the holding company operating in Lithuania.

These are just a few examples of the business success of our clients.
